Ian Hannigan, Staff Veterinarian

Dr. Hannigan is originally from Pennsylvania. He drove across the country from the East Coast to join our VCA team in 2018. Dr. Hannigan has two animals of his own, one longhair Chihuahua named Pablo and a Toy Poodle named Bryn. He also has two jelly fish! He started out in the industry as a veterinary assistant in small animal practices, then followed that with time amongst the cows and horses for a large animal practice in Wisconsin, before spending an exhilarating summer working with dogs, cats, hyenas, and lions in and around the Serengeti in Tanzania. He spent some time in California while attending Pomona College where he obtained an undergraduate degree in Biology researching gender, sexual orientation, and getting people lost with directions. Dr. Hannigan graduated from the University of Pennsylvania vet school in 2012 and also trained in veterinary medical acupuncture in Colorado during that time. Dr. Hannigan specializes in acupuncture at our facility. After graduating from vet school, he worked as a general practitioner (with splashes of emergency work) in Maryland and Florida.
