Dr. Russell is originally from Manhattan, and attended SUNY Buffalo and The City College of the City University of New York for his undergraduate degree. He then attended Ross University receiving his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine after completing a clinical year of study at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Dr. Russell then completed a one-year rotating internship followed by a one-year Internal Medicine specialty internship at Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center of Westbury, and has joined the VREC Westbury team as a staff doctor. Dr. Russell's special interests include autoimmune disease, endocrine disorders, and infectious disease. When not in the hospital Dr. Russell enjoys reading, hiking, film, and spending time with his adopted stray cat Patrick Warburton.

Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center of Westbury is a 24-hour 365-day a year emergency referral center equipped with a staff of highly trained veterinarians and a dedicated nursing staff capable of providing emergency and critical care support. We provide after-hours, weekend and holiday emergency services when your regular veterinarian is not available. In case your pet needs additional specialty services, specialists from our surgery, neurology, oncology, and internal medicine departments are on-call and available to our Emergency/Critical Care Department and your pet.
