Lauren Rowe, Staff Veterinarian
Dr. Rowe was raised in Montgomery, AL, and graduated from Loveless Academic Magnet Program (LAMP) high school in 2002. She attended Tuskegee University on a full Presidential scholarship and graduated summa cum laude in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in Animal Science. After finishing veterinary school, she completed a small animal rotating internship at the Tuskegee University Small Animal teaching hospital.
Dr. Rowe has previously worked at Carriage Hills Animal Hospital (CHAH) during high school as well as undergraduate and veterinary school years. When she began working as an associate at CHAH in April 2015, it truly felt as if she were returning home. During her initial time at CHAH as an associate veterinarian, Dr. Rowe was called back to her other home, Tuskegee University, where she served as an assistant clinical professor in the Small Animal teaching hospital for 2 years. During this time, she developed a passion for guiding future colleagues into the veterinary profession and earned the 2019 Zoetis Distinguished Veterinary teacher award. The desire to sharpen her own clinical skills inspired Dr. Rowe's full time return to CHAH and, now, Vaughn Road Animal Hospital.
Dr. Rowe is especially interested in preventative care medicine and surgery. Outside of work, Dr. Rowe is a proud mother of one son and the proud owner of a terrier mix who she adopted during veterinary school. Dr. Rowe enjoys good food, good music, all things Tuskegee, dancing, and is a member of her childhood church.
