Our hospital offers ultrasound (sonogram) examinations as a non-invasive diagnostic procedure to evaluate your pet's internal organs. Ultrasound can be used to examine the abdominal organs, reproductive organs, eyes and heart. Ultrasound is non-invasive and well tolerated by most pets. In most cases, ultrasound is relatively brief and require no sedation, enabling your pet to go home right after the procedure.
At Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center of Westbury, we utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment in the care and treatment of pets. These advanced tools provide superior imagery that is interpreted by our doctors and other specialists to help diagnose or monitor your pet’s condition.
Services include:
• Ultrasonography (abdominal, thoracic, soft tissue) and Outpatient Ultrasound Service
• Eklin Digital Radiology suite (standard x-ray and contrast procedures)
• Conventional (non-digital Radiology Suite)
• Fluoroscopy (moving or 'live-action' radiographic studies)
• Helical GE high speed CT Scanner
• On site Fonar MRI (Imaging studies are reviewed by Board Certified Radiologists at Shadowsmiths Veterinary Imaging.)
