Sara Salmen, Staff Veterinarian

Dr. Sara Salmen graduated from Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. She moved to North Carolina to be near family and joined VCA Durant Road Animal Hospital the same year. She has been working in veterinary hospitals since she was 13 years old and has grown up always knowing that she wanted to be in the veterinary field. Her professional interests include medical oncology, internal medicine, and dietary therapy. She is passionate about the human-animal bond and helping pets and their families pursue choices that will lead to quality years together. She pursues continuing education on an annual basis to develop new skills and keep up-to-date on emerging information. In her personal time, she enjoys activites with her local church, spending time with family and friends, photography, camping and hiking in the mountains, and reading. She shares her home with two black and white cats named Cobi and Reece.
