Kelly Rockwell, Staff Veterinarian

Growing up in Ohio, Dr. Rockwell spent every day rescuing reptiles and amphibians from storm drains where she developed a love for all animals. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Boston College, she attended North Carolina State University where she received a Master's in Zoology. She returned to the Midwest to attend veterinary school at the University of Illinois. She went on to complete a small animal medicine and surgery internship in Monterey, California followed by a zoological medicine internship at Louisiana State University. She is excited to return to the west coast to treat all your furry, feathered, slimy, and scaly pets! Dr. Rockwell’s professional interests include exotic medicine and surgery, herpetology, and zoonotic diseases. She has published numerous research papers and veterinary book chapters on the topic of reptile medicine.

When she’s not working, Dr. Rockwell enjoys running, hiking and camping, learning to play the piano, and spending time with her two cats, Rooney and Raleigh.
