Elizabeth Gilbert, Staff Veterinarian

DVM

Dr. Elizabeth Gilbert grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan and went to school at the University of Michigan where she obtained her Bachelors degree in Anthropology and Zoology in 2004. She graduated from Michigan State University with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree in 2010 and went on to complete her small animal internship in San Diego, with a focus in emergency medicine. Following her internship, Dr. Gilbert practiced in Southern California and Florida before relocating to San Francisco over 2 years ago. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, California Veterinary Medical Association, and San Francisco Veterinary Medical Association. Her professional interests include internal medicine, emergency medicine, soft tissue surgery, exotic animal medicine and surgery, as well as volunteering. She has worked internationally with Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) as well as Veterinary Street Outreach Services (Vet SOS) in San Francisco.

When not working, Dr. Gilbert enjoys spending time at home with her boyfriend, Tyler, and two cats, Bonzai and Luna. You can often find her traveling, playing the piano, cooking, and participating in almost any type of outdoor activity.
