Susan Libra, Staff Veterinarian
Dr. Susan Libra was born in California but grew up in Oregon on a small farm where her family still remains. She graduated from Oregon State University and Washington State University as part of a multi-state program at that time. Her professional experiences include small animal/mixed animal/exotic/wild animal practices, to include participating in the care of Keiko, the killer whale, at Oregon Coast Aquarium! Dr. Libra has a variety of professional interests including surgery and medical cases. She takes great pleasure in assisting both owners and pets to have the best quality relationship possible which involves many areas: behavior, medicine, surgery, education, etc. Participating in puppy/kitten to adulthood care is another one of her passions. Dr. Libra also finds value helping to make the end of life process be as honoring to the pet and owner as possible when those difficult times come along. At the end of the day, she strives to see happy healthy pets and owners who are happy with their beloved pets. When not at work, Dr. Libra enjoys spending time with family (to include her grandkids Ben, Nathan and Eva), hiking, cooking, Czech polka and food, farm life and flowers that stink good! She currently has 2 mini doxies - Zoey and Tasha - but in the pas she has provided a home for a sulcata tortoise, chinchillas, guinea pigs, cats and mini doxies.
