Laura Ashmore, Staff Veterinarian
Dr. Ashmore earned an undergraduate degree in ecology and evolutionary biology from the University of California, Irvine before moving to Australia for four years to attend veterinary school at the University of Melbourne. During veterinary school she spent her extra time with the school's greyhound colony, helping with their enrichment.
After veterinary school, Dr. Ashmore completed a year-long rotating veterinary internship at VCA Animal Specialty Group in Los Angeles. It has always been a dream of hers to move up to Oregon, as she always loved spending summers on her aunt's farm near Roseburg, OR. She has special interests in ultrasound, internal medicine, and clinical pathology. She is passionate about not only the physical health of animals but their mental and emotional well-being. She is proud to be a certified "Fear Free" professional. She understands how important pets are in our lives and finds it a privilege to help people care for their pets. Dr. Ashmore enjoys spending time with family and friends, being in the outdoors, exploring new places, traveling, spending time near the ocean, snorkeling, scuba diving, and spending lazy days at home with her recently adopted dog, Sadie, and cat, Tyler.
