Our hospital's team of emergency and critical care veterinarians are available 24/7 to care for your pet's emergency needs. We are here for you every day, every night, 365 days a year. Our medical director is a board-certified emergency and critical care specialist, and she often consults with our other ER doctors on complicated cases.

As ER veterinarians, our doctors are trained to handle the life-threatening emergencies that can occur any time of the day or night, as well as care for patients who become ill when their primary veterinarian is unavailable. We also support you local vet when a case becomes too serious or time-intensive for their staff. These emergencies include traumas like being hit by cars or other dog or animal attacks, falling from heights, and gunshot wounds or injuries as well as non-trauma health problems like frequent vomiting, trouble breathing, fever or infection, seizure activity, and many other issues. Our emergency veterinarians act as ER doctors for your pets, just as ER doctors care for you at your local hospital when your doctor is unavailable or your condition is extremely serious. Whenever an emergency arises, our hospital and trained staff are prepared to help. 

Our doctors are also trained in intensive care. Often, patients with a severe, life-threatening emergency come to the ICU because their illness or injury puts them in a position where their physical condition could change rapidly, often by the minute or hour. Research on the treatment of human patients shows that outcomes for the critically ill often improve when they are cared for by doctors and nurses specifically trained to work with such patients., and we have found that the same is true for our animal patients.
